Cleaning Service

Safe Stay at Slon program includes deep cleaning of hotel rooms with a professional aerosol dispenser. Disinfection dispensers are using hydrogen peroxide fog which is safe to use, totally disinfects all surfaces and kills all bacteria and viruses. To learn more, watch the video demonstration below.

Our rooms and suites are cleaned and checked to highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene which includes deep cleaning with professional aerosol dispenser.

Our housekeeping staff will perform daily stay-over cleaning service, unless you wish us not to by communicating this request with a ‘’Do Not Disturb’’ notice on your door handle or contacting our reception team digitally via communication apps.

Sanitised & Inspected information – After cleaning, our housekeeping staff will perform professional hydrogen peroxide fog disinfection. Special door hanger will notify that your room is ready to check-in and safe to use.

Our conference centre is offering air-conditioning and natural day-light with large windows which can be opened for regulair airing.

Outlined below is our meetings and events safety protocol:

  • Hygiene precautions and safe handling of personal belongings in the coatroom
  • Stations with alcohol-based hand sanitizers in hotel public areas and meeting and event spaces
  • Ensuring physical distancing, 1,5 m minimum, in meeting, event and networking facilities

  • Increased cleaning and disinfection frequency of all meeting and event spaces, paying special attention to high-touch items

Safety and health of the participants are our priority, so in cooperation with the Slovenian Convention Bureau, we received the certificate "Safe and Healthy Meetings & Events". With this, as a venue for events, we meet all the conditions and additional measures presented by the National institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

Testing in Hotel Slon

In accordance with the current government decree, accommodation service provider (Hotel) is obliged to check if the guest who wishes to check-in or use any hotel service meets the RVT condition* (Recovered – Vaccinated – Tested) which is required for the use of all hotel services. If the guest does not want to present a proof of compliance with the RVT condition, the accommodation service provider is obliged to refuse all services.

 *RVT condition: Recovered – Vaccinated – Tested:

  1.  a certificate of a negative SARS-CoV-2 virus test result by a PCR (not older than 72 hours) or RAT test (not older than 48 hours); or
  2. a proof of vaccination against COVID-19, or
  3. a proof of a positive PCR test result that is older than 10 days but not older than six months, or
  4. doctor’s certificate stating that they recovered from COVID-19.

Testing in Hotel Slon

We are the first in Ljubljana to offer excellently accepted Covid-19 testing for our guests within the hotel. We also provide assistance in arranging testing at selected clinics. This way, you will be able get tested quickly, safely and comfortably while we take care of organizing everything.

Testing is carried out by a trusted external partner (clinic with a mobile unit). Highest quality rapid tests are used (Roche with 99.68% specificity and 96.52% sensitivity). PCR tests are analyzed at the Institute of Microbiology of the Medical Faculty of University of Ljubljana.

  • PCR testing in hotel premises is available for individual guests and groups.
  • Rapid (Antigen) testing is only available at the clinic.

Testing process

Highly professional services using all necessary protective measures and equipment are guaranteed. All personel performing the tests are pre-tested with a rapid antigen test and speak fluent English. By prior arrangement, testing is available 7 days a week. If necessary, a consultation with a medical doctor is also available, regarding test result interpretation or action when infection is confirmed.


Results of rapid tests are available within 15 minutes after testing. Analysis of the PCR test can take up to 24 hours, but results of a test performed in the morning are usually available on the same day.


PCR test results are sent to patients by e-mail. If necessary, a written report suitable for crossing the border, is issued.
